MyNeighborhood.net - Meet and Greet Neighbors Online

    myneighborhood

Do you ever wonder who your neighbors are or what new things are going on in your neighborhood? MyNeighborhood.net is a great site to unify and inform your local community. Not to mention a great place for ruthless gossip and outlets of exclusivity. This site is a meeting place for neighbors to offer advice, ask favors, make plans, meet new people, and locate old friends. Once a member registers, or "moves into the Neighborhood," they have access to all the neighborhood information and discussions.
Networking is the prime service of the site and encourages users to get to know the truth behind the "familiar strangers that your already know by sight" and solve some neighbor mysteries. MyNeighborhood.net is a place to gossip, chat, talk smack and generally mettle in the business of neighbors. A positive advantage of the site is that neighbors can ask for help or offer assistance for moving days, babysitting, gardening, dog walking, car-pooling and the numerous unexpected events that require some extra hands. This site is also a place to find other locals with common interests, start a club, stay in contact, share reviews and advertise items for sale.

    In their own words

"With MyNeighborhood you can stay on top of all that's abuzz in your neighborhood. Meet the people around you quickly and easily, have gobs of fun, and make it meaningful. Normally, you could only chance upon what you'll now find out about your neighbors and your area. And of course, it's all free!"

Why it might be a killer

As long as this site is used for good and not evil (gossip) it will thrive. Neighborhood streets used to be full of kids bike-riding and parents chatting, but nowadays everyone is inside on the computer. This online neighborhood of your neighborhood might actually help people get out of the house and chat in the real streets again.

    Some questions

This site does not seem to be directed at any specific demographic. Is it more for housewives or kids?
