    MissedConnected.com - Maps for MissedConnections

    missedconnected

You’ve probably read them, perhaps even posted a couple, maybe you even troll your paper hoping that someone’s missed you. Well, now there’s a whole social network dedicated to the ‘saw you at…’ phenomenon and it’s called Missedconnected. The site employs GoogleMaps to chart out those lost connections; it doesn’t stop there though, of course—after all, a network of only missed connections probably wouldn’t fare so well. Rather, Missedconnected also allows users to organize and attend events, and to scout out and list best hangouts and places to connect, much as you would with other social networks. You can browse miss connections by location or by category, e.g. Man seeks Friend/Man/Woman etc. Other features include a search bar, news aggregation and event calendars.

    In their own words

“MissedConnected.com is a new social network exclusively for people looking to reconnect with missed connections. MissedConnected.com will allow registered members to post missed connections, best places to connect, and organize social events. The key difference between this and other similar sites that provide listing of miss connections is its location based functionality. This feature is powered by Google maps and provides users with a quick way of finding or posting missed connections.”

Why it might be a killer

This isn’t a bad concept. All those missed connections placed in one central site could actually facilitate meet ups. The maps make it much easier to pinpoint connections and to perhaps find the person you thought you had lost forever.

    Some questions

The site could expand its feature set. It would be beneficial to add better profiles, user messaging, cellular functionality, perhaps even GPS capability.
