Social networking sites have become all the rage and there seems to be a new one popping up almost everyday offering to fulfill the needs of specific segments of the population. Recently launched Maya’s Mom hopes to become the place that parents can go to share stories, photos, advice and in general their experience as parents. Parents often have questions about how to rekindle relations with their spouse, whether their child’s behavior is normal, how to make healthy meals and a whole lot more so a site that enables them to ask these questions to a group of their peers is very useful and more economical than seeking professional help.

This could become a really great resource for parents everywhere and could really help them to deal with any number of issues. At some point down the road, if they develop different location-based networks, this could become a great tool for parents of teenagers to keep tabs on them.

Perhaps they should consider having guest experts posting a variety of topics to get the discussion rolling. They could bring in an expert on teenage drinking for example and then have parents comment. This would allow them to create a more useful database of advice in a quicker fashion than just waiting for the parents.
