LiveMansion.com - Not Your Usual Social Network

    livemansion

Maybe you’ve heard of the horror movie based on the American Idol style user voting system called “Live Mansion: The Movie”. Basically, you pick the director, the cast, and concept of the movie. Imagine something along the lines of MySpace meets Paris Hilton meets American Idol. The wisdom of the crowd wins. It’s certainly an interesting concept. As mentioned, LiveMansion is a MySpace-like social networking community with a focus on entertainment and pop culture. It’s got all the trappings of a social network: profiles, friends, chat rooms, email, as well as entertainment news, movie reviews, gossip and videos. The Movie aspect gives LiveMansion an edge in the social networking phenomena. Afterall, it’s a movie made by the masses. The caliber of the movie remains to be soon, but everyone ought to find something they like. Currently, the movie is in production and scheduled for theatrical release (yes, theatrical) soon.

    In their own words

“LiveMansion.com is an online social networking community with a focus on entertainment and popular culture. At the forefront of the convergence of social networking and entertainment, LiveMansion is defining "Social Content". Social Content is entertainment content created by a community, owned by that community and distributed for all to enjoy.”

Why it might be a killer

A democratically made movie is a sight to behold. LiveMansion certainly has an eye towards innovation and business. Sure it’s yet another social networking community, but it draws on what’s popular now—namely, the public as purveyor of what’s popular.

    Some questions

Can Live Mansion: The Movie possibly be any good? American Idol hasn’t always been a gauge of talent. And movies is a whole different creature. If this is the only appeal to LiveMansion, one wonders how LiveMansion will fair once the movie is a blip in our collective memory?
