LinkedIn is the world´s largest business network. It is a MySpace for adults, bridging connections to people through their networks of friends and colleagues to help you find possible business partners, employers, and employees. You can search through a directory of service providers to find ones that people in your network have recommended. A new feature allows you to ask a question and get it answered by the experts who are members on the site, such as “Do you see a new trend in Clinical Research industry: less contract positions compare to the number of new “permanent” openings?” or “I am looking for iron oxide buyers, minimum order 10 tons.” Hiring and finding jobs are easy to do, just searching through your network. This takes networking and brings it up a notch, without having to dress up and eat hors d´oeuvres while making small talk to try and make a connection.

It already has a huge following, and is being adopted by people from all levels and all industries of occupation. For those with extra capital, there are premium member features that help make a profit based on the huge amount of traffic on the site.

Will people feel comfortable networking with people they hardly know the connection to when they haven´t even seen or spoken to them before?
