Layoffspace.com - Social Networking for the Unemployed

If you´ve recently lost a job and are feeling down and out, Layoffspace is the place for you. This social networking site is aimed squarely at the unemployed. It´s got the typical networking attributesâ€"pictures, forums, groups, profiles and chat. It also comes with tips and tutorials on how to jump start your career, with resume how-tos, job fair listings, and a job board. There´s an event calendar for both local and national events.

Being unemployed is difficult, and while there a good deal of resources about how to find a job, etc., there really isn´t a support network like Layoffspace. It´s a good way for the unemployed to find others who understand their own predicament; and it´s chalk full of advice.

The site is fairly new, will it be adding features/content from external sites? Bringing in professional advisors, book excerpts, classifieds from other sites, etc would really add some depth to the site. Right now the job listings are directly posted by members themselves, it seems the site would benefit if these could be enhanced by other sources.
