    Keevu.com - A Social Network of Places

    keevu

Keevu is a social network of places and hangouts. The upshot: we, well most of us, all have habitual spots we like to frequent with our friends, our lovers, and our families. Keevu keeps track of all those dives and helps us discover new ones. Users post their favorite locales and receive recommendations which accord with those their tastes. Of course with each new recommended hangout there’s the possibility of meeting new friends. Places are filtered by locality, e.g city or country as well as tags. Apart from letting us find out about events and coffee shops or bars, Keevu gives business owners free reign with their listings, so users are often privy to VIP entrance lists, parties, and special get togethers. Keevu is available in both Spanish and English. All the standard geolocating, tagging and commenting attributes are included. Thus users can add new places, map them out, and add any events coming up. These can be exported to your gCal or iCal or you can simply follow events via RSS feeds. Additionally, destination routes can be mapped out and detailed with flickr photos. Keevu is free for both business owners and users alike.

    In their own words

“Let Keevu stores your favorite venues and...
    get recommendations for similar ones,
stay up to date about events in those venues,
discover where your friends are or what they will do,
meet people going to the same places as you do,
subscribe to exclusive guestlists and VIP lists.”

Why it might be a killer

Keevu’s got a range of functionalities that bring out the details. Not only is it designed to make navigation simple, it’s surprisingly flexible. Users are able to contribute and participate in a range of ways which incorporates both their off and online lives. It’s well thought out and with more users it could become quite engaging.

    Some questions

How is the site going to get club/business owners to add their places? With not that many users, the site is lacking in locations—how will it get more people to join?
