Jangl.com is a new phone service that gives consumers the ability to receive calls without actually giving out their phone number. They"ve essentially applied to telephones the idea of "double-blind" e-mail system used by online dating services to ensure anonymity and privacy. Neither the caller nor the receiver knows eachother"s number but rather the call is prefaced by a short announcement saying the caller"s name so their call can be blocked or answered. When you make a Jangle.com account, you provide your phone number, and you get a a PIN and a Jangl ID. You can then give out your Jangle ID wihtout ever having to give out your real number. And later if you don"t want a specific person calling anymore, you can remove the permission to call you and never again be reached through the number.

Jangl is already being used by an online dating service called matchTalk with promising results and universal appeal to all age groups. Already reviewed by The New York Times, USA Today, and many many others, Jangl.com is receiving a lot of press. The site has already teamed up with other dating services and Jangl raised $9 million from prominent venture capitalists in two rounds, and is a leader in developing Voice 2.0 services for consumers. Jangl has created a way to bring peoples" online relationships and personas onto the phone.
