Imantri.com- The Community for Mentoring and Coaching

    imantri

Do you want to improve your time management skills, or do you want to some day sell your business? Conversely, do you want to teach someone a specific skill set? iMantri is a site to set up mentors and mentees. They are wholeheartedly committed to long-term and meaningful mentorship, and there is a whole database of members seeking or offering to teach in many diverse fields. iMantri allows users to search the site in terms of competencies they are seeking or possess, or goals that they are looking to reach (or can help others achieve). At the moment, iMantri is free, although some mentors charge for their services.

    In their own words

“The genesis of iMantri is based on a simple concept – most of us need a shoulder to lean on; someone to share our thoughts with; and a fountain of wisdom to tap into. And there are many of us who want to share their gifts and help others along the way.”

Why it might be a killer

iMantri is a unique concept that hopes to differentiate itself from other sites that merely shell out advice. If iMantri can ensure that mentors are trustworthy and effective, the site has the definite potential to take off.

    Some questions

How effective is mentorship that does not involve face-to-face interaction? Nonverbal cues are an important means to teaching and understanding, which has the potential to be lost in an online environment. In a similar vein, does the site have the possibility to search for mentors geographically?
