    Hogslife.com - Where Riders Unite

    hogslife

Hogslife is the first of it's kind in the social network space. It is very targeted and highly focused on the area of Harley-Davidson owners, riders and enthusiasts. While Myspace, Facebook, and YouTube, just to name a few, focus on a mass horizontal audience, Hogslife directs it's cross hair at a very specific vertical group of like minded, passionate individuals. There are a total of approximately twelve million Harley-Davidson owners in the world, with about seventy percent of those riders here in the USA. Currently, there is no way for Harley-Davidson owners/riders to unite and share their common passion and interests other than archaic various bulletin boards and forums. Some Harley owners have joined various groups on Myspace and Facebook, but they often find themselves completely lost in a giant pool of people whom do not share the same passion and interests. Hogslife was developed and launched by a group of Harley-Davidson owners and riders. The site understands the passion, dedication and what it means to roll with thundering sounds of exhaust; the earth rumbling of the good old V-Twin purring underneath and mostly what it means to have that Harley-Davidson emblem on the side of gas tanks, on the patch of riders' leathers, on the decals of helmets and the pride to just merely say "I own a HOG" Hogslife takes pride in each bolt, each piece of chrome accessories, and modifications that are make to HOGS. Everything and anything that would preserve the namesake of being a Harley-Davidson owner and rider. Hogslife was built especially for all of you proud Harley owners and riders. It is the first of it's kind social network built by Harley riders for Harley riders!

    In their own words

"There is definitely a need for current and potential Harley-Davidson owners to come together and unite to fend off the onslaught and protect the name sake of what it means to be a Harley owner, rider and enthusiast."

Why it might be a killer

Previously large social networks have been built around horizontal, primarily demographic criteria: MySpace, 14 – 20 year olds, middle school and high school students; Facebook, 18 – 30 year olds, college students; Similar social network services serve other geographies, e.g. Bebo, Skyblog and Hi5 in parts of Europe, Friendster, Orkut and CyWorld in Asia and the Pacific Islands. Vertical Socials (VS) is taking a different approach. For the first time, the concept of social network is being used to target large under served vertical communities or interest groups and the vendors and distribution channels who sell to them. This transforms social networks into a powerful customer retention and management solution for companies serving these vertical communities. VS refers to this as a Social Network Solutions® or SNS®. This supports a powerful business model based on subscription fees to the vendors and dealerships that serve the community combined with high CPM advertising revenues, $30 - $50 CPM, from online advertising to a highly targeted community of consumers. Vertical Socials has launched Hogslife® as its first vertical social network. Hogslife® is a social network service targeted at the Harley-Davidson owners’ community and Harley-Davidson and aftermarket vendors and dealers. The Harley-Davidson segment of the motorcycle industry is projected to have an estimated value of $25 Billion per year by 2010. VS have also launched Extremeapex® and Myministrylife® . Extremeapex® is a social network service targeted at the Metric/Sportsbike owners’ community and Metric/Sportsbike aftermarket vendors and dealers. Myministrylife® is a social network service targeted at the Christian religious community and Christian churches. VS will launch three additional verticals this year and ten additional verticals next year. Where interest groups are difficult to access through multiple horizontal networks, VS’s solution builds vertical social networks that are designed to provide customer retention and management functionality for vendors, dealerships and organizations who serve that constituency.

    Some questions

How easily accessible is the site? Will HOG enthusisats be able to easily find the site in order to come together? There are proud Harley owners all over the world. Will the site consider adding forums in other languages so that every HOG lover can participate?
