Going.com - This is Where the Party Starts

    going

Where are you going tonight? Got no plans? Bored and wondering what on earth there is to do? Well, you´re in luck if you happen to live in New York, Boston, or San Francisco because Going.com is there for all your event/goings on needs. This social networking cum social calendar site is your one stop site for what´s happening in your area (at least if you are fortunate enough to live in one of the above locales). Track listings by distance, popularity and time. Found out where everyone else is going, follow the cool kids, or see what the Editor´s picks are. Going takes your online world into meatspace; so if you find a group that suits your fancy you can meet them at one of Goings monthly parties. Going has just partnered with Jet Blue to make getting together that much easier. Of course there are plenty of photos, comments and discussions on site; but the best part is that this isn´t limited to your cyber world. Get connected, get going.

    In their own words

“Going helps you find fun things to do and fun people to meet.”

Why it might be a killer

Unlike other social networking sites, Going actually takes things offline, encouraging real world communication. It represents a nice alternative to the big wigs, e.g. Facebook and MySpace.

    Some questions

Will this alternative site have the punch and allure to beat out the competition? Do we really need another social networking site? Really? FaceBook already does the same thing and it´s larger and more popular. Will Going expand to include other cities?
New York is covered enough, and the same goes for Boston and San Francisco.
