It finally happened. The web got drunk and built its own bar. The result of this drunken foreplay? Fubar the world’s first online bar and happy hour. Aptly named, Fubar is like social networking but in a bar. You can meet new people on Fubar and send them drinks if you happen to fancy them. Fubar is important for a number of reasons. One, the social networking sites rankings are in for 2007 and Fubar grew a maddening 3272217% last year alone. Two, Fubar incorporates ranking, so you can rate profiles , pics and stashes. You can also earn something called fubucks, which can buy you gifts (i.e. drinks) from the giftshop. Fubar lets you know when your friends have updated their profiles, or posted new stuff. It lets you send updates across the network. There’s even VIP members, bar tabs, and Fubar bouncers. It started in LA. Go figure. At least it’s free.

Fubar has great numbers. It’s the fastest growing new social networking site. It’s for grownups and is extremely participatory with plenty of action and incentives.
