Fobfire is a recently launched social networking site that introduces a new level of control and security in the existing landscape. Fobfire provides users with coin-sized tokens called "fobs" that they can give out to people they meet.

The fobs are stamped with an alphanumeric code that recipients can enter into Fobfire.com to gain access to that person's profile. The twist is that Fobfire allows users to create separate profiles such as one for business, one for dating, one for friends, etc. This allows the Fobfire user to control what information is given out to specific people. Essentially, you can hand out fobs with a link to your business profile at corporate functions and then hand out fobs with a link to your dating profile when you're out on the town.
