DizzyWood.com - Fun Virtual World for 8-12 Set

    dizzywood

DizzyWood is about fun. This online virtual world aims to inspire kids’ imaginations in a safe, but again, fun play world environment. Bobble headed yet stylish characters roam around Dizzywood amongst cute ramshackle jalopies and food carts, dance halls, and wooded forests. There’s a chat option for making conversation once you come across a fellow Dizzywooder. There are games, challenges and parties. Children can earn badges and super powers for their achievements.

They can cuddle up with furry creatures and participate in snow festivals. They can find out about the Onakasi and the Jaguar Temple. This play haven is open for public beta testing.

Their aim is to create a web site for kids that inspires a sense of imagination, discovery, exploration, and most of all, fun.

    In their own words

“We were thinking about putting one of those really snappy-sounding corporate mission statements here, but we quickly realized that wouldn't really convey what we're all about. What is that? In a word, fun.

    .”

Why it might be a killer

The site has a very childish yet surprisingly stylish character set. The storyline is at once amusing and smart. There are bright and vivid colors. Kids will get a kick out of it. Besides, this is a big opportunity--this market demographic could end up being very profitable especially with tie ins and fake money.

    Some questions

A better explanation of the features and activities kids can engage in would probably be appreciated by the parents. The target age group—8-12—will probably end up being problematic—do these kids need a social network, will their parents approve? Why such Barbie doll perfect avatars?
