Comwat is a meta-community. It takes the newly popularized location based social networking scheme and gives it a twist. Rather than having your friends know where you are offline in the real world, Comwat lets others know where you are online. It’s got all the regular networking fixings, with profiles, forums, and tags. But Comwat also organizes a profile of your online goings; it lists your del.icio.us bookmarks, shows your latest Twitter posts, your flickr pages, your Xing profile, etc. Users themselves can opt to have their online footprints known or not. Users can find new friends or connect with old friends on their networks; they can browse profiles in stealth mode or publicly. It’s free to use, but there’s no way to send private messages, so it works best if you want to keep with friends you already know.
