Climber.com - Jobs for your personality

    climber

Climber is a unique and clever job finding site. The free site lets you upload a profile and CV, which is used to develop a "Career Fingerprint." Your fingerprint is used to help you better understand your career goals and find the kinds of companies that you would like working for. Your Career Fingerprint is based on a series of questions that identify your values in the following categories: Leadership, Environment, Compensation, Innovation, Social Factors, Prestige, and Social Values. Once your information is in the site, you are visible to companies which sign up to use Climber"s services. Then you choose to disclose your information to a prospective employer. This happens one of two ways - you review a career opportunity and decide that you like what you see, so you send an invitation to that employer to review your profile; or a prospective employer reviews your profile and sends you an invitation to review a career opportunity and you accept the request.

    In their own words

There are plenty of job sites out there. What we do best is help you understand yourself and reveal what types of jobs/companies you will best fit. This entails completing a workplace values assessment process and answering some thought provoking questions. Climber.com is not a “one and done” process—we’re a career advancement tool that can help you throughout your working life. As you develop new interests and skills, your Climber.com profile will change as well, allowing companies to review the most up to date and relevant data about you at any time.

Why it might be a killer

Climber is unique in its level of personalizing your online character enough so that you seem like a real person with a personality. This makes it appealing to employers who want to see more than a dry, boring online profile.

    Some questions

Since Climber charges companies to use their services, they might be losing opportunities to get involvement by smaller businesses or even individuals looking for freelancers.
