BeautifulSociety.com - A Few of My Favorite Things

    beautifulsociety

What do you do with a domain name like Beautiful Society? Start up an exclusive social network for the rich, the beautiful, and the elite? Not quite. The question, posed by the site owner’s themselves has been answered somewhat differently. Although Beautiful Society has undergone several transformations, in its current phase, it’s become a social network dedicated to favorites. Members are encouraged to post all of their favorite things with pics and deets of course, so that the community at large can play at getting-to-know-you. Society members may also write articles/reviews about their favorite things. Other features include forums, stuff, and, of course, polls (today’s is ‘my favorite reptile’). Beautiful Society has got the design aesthetic to match it’s fortunate domain name; you’ll find crisp pictures and a clean layout. It’s free to join, donations are accepted.

    In their own words

“So, what is Beautiful Society now. It's about you, and your favorite things. A detailed favorite listing, including a description and image, with show the community something about you. In turn you can learn from other people with the same favorites as yourself. Coming together around something you already know and like... your favorites!”

Why it might be a killer

Beautiful Society is a different take on networking. More emphasis is given to favorites rather than personal details. It’s not MySpace, which is a welcome sign. The appeal of Beautiful Society is the content; everything rallies around your favs. Everyone has a favorite something or other, it’s not exclusive, nor is it just for teens and their aged counterparts.

    Some questions

Some people might want more profile features, e.g. the ability to upload more than one personal pic, and the ability to import favs from other social networks. Favorite categories are rather limited. Also messaging would be a welcome addition.
