In their own words
BakeSpace.com was created by media producer (and avid baker) Babette Pepaj as the first true social networking website devoted to bringing together people who enjoy cooking and baking. It’s an online community where you can make new friends, exchange recipes, share ideas, find answers to your questions, download coupons and, in general, get inspired about one of life’s great pleasures.
Why it might be a killer
There are millions of cooks out there, and this site helps bring them together. And while there are other recipe sharing sites, this one seems to have created the right formula between recipe swapping and social networking. A genuine community has formed and keeps flourishing. One obvious example of that is their high profile sponsorships such as KitchenAid.
Some questions
Does this site have any plans for innovation? How do they hope to keep the site fresh and relevant? What is their long-term vision for keeping members interested? Maybe they can connect with one of the chef reality shows and do a joint project of some kind to keep raising their profile?
