    Aquariphiles.com - Who Likes Fish?

    aquariphiles

Have a thing for fish? If you"re a fish lover (of the living, swimming sort of fish) Aquariphiles.com was made for you. The site is like Myspace for those keen on discuses and betas. Members create their own profiles. They can explore member started communities and forums and search for other members in their area. The site"s got an RSS feed reader and a search bar. Other than that there are pretty lean pickings. With 7 active members and counting, the aquarium could use a boost. Supported by fish related ads, ("stop fish cruelty in Singapore" is a memorable one), Aquariphiles doesn"t look like it will make a big splash; however it still in it"s early stages so perhaps move sea creature lovers will join.

    In their own words

“Welcome to Aquariphiles.com an online gathering place for fish lovers. Whether you´re in to danios or discus, guppies or groupers, you´ve come to the right place. We´re here to help you meet new people, share your passion and discover new things.”

Why it might be a killer

Fish lovers now have their own networking site. At Aquariphile, members can chat and share fish stories to their hearts" content. It"s definitely niche, but it"s bound to please a select few.

    Some questions

Besides perhaps being too narrow, the site lacks a lot of networking essentials. Member profiles aren"t elaborate; there aren"t any public picture galleries, nor are there resources about fish. Perhaps they"d do well to implement a wiki-styled fish resource page. The design could use work.
