It is difficult to imagine that new startup, TrustedOpinion was actually inspired by a trip to a birthing class. Maybe something about bringing a new baby into the world really makes you want to start a new business. TrustedOpinion is a web-based company which allows you to view recommendations from friends about social events, resturaunts, music events, nightclubs, bars, and more. It is a far cry from the prenatal unit, but in both situations, were faced with the reality that we don’t know everything, and trusted opinions from friends and family are always helpful. People you decide to friend will be added to your circle, the closer your friends are the higher the relevance of their opinion becomes. Eventually, all of your friends’ top picks will be organized into one shared list, where you can access their thoughts and opinions on movies. They plan to expand beyond movies and encourage users to add more content about resturaunts, bars, events, etc.

TrustedOpinion differentiates itself by only making your real-life friends’ opinions relevant, as opposed to creating a list of “most voted” or “most popular” that were voted for by people you likely do not know. I like the shortened registration process and the site is looking clean and simple.
