Writers.net - Resources For The Writing Industry

    Writers

It’s a deformation of this narcissistic culture of ours to believe that behind a book there’s only one person, namely the author. Behind a book there’s always a huge team of hard working people who perform all kinds of tuning and precision works to convert that rough manuscript into a nice-looking object called book, which in turn can change lives, save you from complete boredom, or help you level a table (oh, the versatility of bad literature). Unless you want your book to end up doing this not so glamorous job, you should really take a look at this site, where you’ll be able to find a variety of resources for different segments of the writing/publishing industry: writers, editors, publishers and agents’ needs are contemplated here by providing a directory of professionals in each of those areas, forums for them to meet and exchange ideas, tips and projects, plus a library of articles on some very haunting problems of editing and being edited, including where to stand in regard to contract and deals with publishing houses, how to deal with manuscript rejection, how to find an editor to help you, or how to get rid of your editor and try self-editing. What makes this site especially attractive in my opinion, is that it pays attention both to traditional editing processes, and also to the options that the internet puts handy for anyone who cares to put a story, novel or poem together. Also of immense interest is the links section, where you’ll find lists of journals, publications, criticism and theory articles, and many more stuff that all bibliophiles will be happy to know about, in particular students and teachers.
