TicketToRead.com is an interactive website that provides elementary school students with tools to make reading a more pleasant activity, and encouraging them to improve their reading skills. After logging in students enter a personalized clubhouse; here they select different passages that are assigned to them by their teacher according to the appropriate reading level. The first step is for the student to read the selected passage in order to assess a word per minute (wpm) reading goal, students are then introduced to vocabulary terms, providing them with context sentences, definition, pictures, and audio. After listening to the passage and following along, they go on to practice reading it on their own. At this stage they can click on words to find their definition, pronunciation, or even text usage. During the final read students are timed in order to find their wpm and if they reach their goal they are awarded points and are allowed to take the final quiz. If the student passes the comprehension and vocabulary quiz, they are awarded points which they can spend on decorating the clubhouse. Students excelling, are showcased on the homepage and even get to show off their clubhouse.
