MyCityRocks.com - Celebrate City Pride And Spirit

    MyCityRocks

The absolutely best way to travel is to get some local to walk you around a bit, tell you some stories and point to places or interest or activities that travel guides usually don’t cover. If you travel a lot or just moved in and are a bit lost, or have lived in your city for the whole of your life and feel like getting to know it a bit more, MyCityRocks.com is the perfect way to get that done. The site works as a social network where users join to learn about things that are going on in their cities organized by area of interest (restaurant, party, outdoor activities, theatre, movies, etc.), and the whole idea is that people get to find out new things about cities, and meet people with related interests; the site can be joined by individuals or companies interested in promoting events. MyCityRocks.com also features a marketplace where users can buy tickets to events at discounted prices from other users or merchants, and among interesting initiatives the personal cards are definitely a winner: you can order print personal cards with your picture and contact details of your social network profile and no personal information (unless you want to) to invite other people to join the network, plus you get the HTML code to paste on your own profile or other people’s, which seems like a really smart way to promote viral marketing and have the users pay for it.
