There is definitely loads of poetry in the night and club scenes, and lots of underestimated beauty as well. Merlin Bronques is an American photographer who has set out to capture these fleeting moments by creating galleries of pictures of night parties around the US and some other places, like Buenos Aires. His pictures and videos can be a bit disturbing as his photography is a bit of an exercise in unveiling the poses and attitudes of people, and although some of the galleries contain nudity, the real point of the whole project is to grasp the strange environment of clubs, parties and strangers meeting in a closed space to be celebrate and party for no apparent reason. Interestingly, the site keeps things in the anonymous mood in which they popped up, as the models’ names are not stated, nor are the venues in which the parties take place, and the pictures and videos don’t have comments or titles other than the gallery name. You can search the site by city, but that’s as close as you’ll get to finding out where the pictures you are looking at came from, so in a way LastNightsParty.com translates as waking up with a severe hangover trying to figure out what you were doing at a party in some unknown place with unknown people. Really artistic and nice stuff.
