Ksde.Org is the website of Kansas State Department of Education. The Department promotes the mission of the Kansas State Board of Education through leadership and support for student learning in Kansas. The Board is charged with the general supervision of public education and other educational interests in the state. At the left hand side of the homepage you will find several categories that provide more information about this Department and its mission. While clearly acknowledging the role and importance of local control, the Board has the responsibility to provide-direction and leadership for the supervision of all state educational institutions under its jurisdiction. They think of education as the means of developing their greatest abilities, because in each of them there is a private hope and dream which, fulfilled, can be translated into benefit for everyone and greater strength for their nation.
