GlobalIssues.org - Issues That Affect Us All

    GlobalIssues

“Today, over 26,500 children died around the world”. That’s the first information you get from this site, so be prepared to learn about outrageous things that are happening and being done to men, woman and the earth. This site, which works mainly as a blog, aggregates news on global issues, and related topics, like human rights, trade and environment; the idea that supports it and keeps it going is that the media does not deal with these topics, or does in a biased way. Thus, this site’s editorial outlook of multi sourcing and comment is a good –yet unfortunately small— way to counteract deliberate or accidental misinformation. The site is very clearly categorized so that you will have no problem at all to find the information you are looking for; however, note that the editor’s approach to global issues is not to view them as compartmented and parallel worlds, but to try and explain why actions in one part of the world can have costly and unfair consequences in its antipodes, thus fostering the notion of global village and global ethics. Also very interesting about this site is their full disclosure of funding and partnership with other media and information networks, which help users to go on reading, or to better understand the position of this publication in the information scene.
