At CrashedToys.com visitors can bid both in auctions for items that insurance companies deem a total loss, and for repossessed items. Individuals can not put items for sale on the site; all the items that can be purchased at CrashedToys.com come solely from the aforementioned sources. It is possible to visit CrashedToys.com offices and check the items that are up for auction in person. To do so, the interested party has to visit the premises in normal business hours. In order to bid, visitors must register and become part of the community of users. A credit card is necessary for registering. An “Account Manager” menu lets users update their profiles. Auctions always end at noon on Tuesday; alternatively, auctions close five minutes after the last bid was placed. A tool that goes by the name of “Closed Item Viewer” can be employed by the user to check if he managed to win a particular auction, or if he was actually outbid by another member. In any case, the auction system sends an e-mail when one is outbid, although on Tuesdays the service may be delayed owing to the intense bidding. Once one has won an auction, it is possible to collect the items personally. The item can also be shipped by CrashedToys.com if that is what the customer wishes.
