With close to 22,000 inhabitants, it only seems reasonable that there wasn’t that many news to publish about Asheboro, NC, which means that they could have invested some local talent and time in building a better-looking site with some more features. They haven’t, though. While covering the standard areas a local newspaper does (weather, sports, community, local news), Courier-Tribune.com is one of those sites that transport you back to 1997: the design isn’t professional-looking at all, the news don’t receive much highlight (they take up a small fraction of what ads do), and there aren’t many interactive features, like polls or forums. Needless to say, RSS feeds are not available, nor are there any means of alternative subscription, like newsletters or mobile/email alert services. Users can take a look at image galleries and order prints or merchandise, but there aren’t many images available nor are the archives there to be taken a look at.
