Athlete.com - A Wiki for Athletes and Sports Fans

    athlete

Athlete.com is an exciting new website for athletes and their fans. The site allows members to create athlete profiles including information about athletic achievements, records, and other useful stats. Athlete.com utilizes web 2.0 technologies which allow members to manage rich content for their favorite sports stars. Think Facebook, YouTube, and Wikipedia rolled into one, but for athletes and sports fans.

After joining Athlete.com, members can post WIKI content, pictures and videos, and accumulate points for the information they contribute. If a user accumulates enough points they can be assigned as a 'Top Fan' of that particular Athlete.

Using the WIKI style editor, members can add content to each athlete profile under certain headings which include stats, endorsements, trivia, and more. There are 14 categories for each athlete as well as space for rich media (pictures, videos and other media can also be uploaded to each athlete profile).

There are also some great widgets and lots of scope for future enhancements to the site including discussion boards, enhanced member profiles, and a section for news and articles
