VortexDNA.com - Get better Google results

    vortexdna

VortexDNA is a Firefox extension that you can download to your browser to increase the efficiency of your Google searches. The way it works is it creates a profile of your online interests and fine-tunes your search results according to your specifics. In this way, your searches are more likely to find what you are looking for. In addition, you can match up your interests to other VortexDNA users and meet similar-minded people, so in this way the site functions as an online community as well as a web 2.0 application.

    In their own words

“For more than a century, visionary organizations have known the importance of aligning people around core purpose and values. Now, for the first time, an easy-to-use yet revolutionary technology allows you to see this alignment at a glance. Download the mywebDNA Firefox extension today to see how powerful VortexDNA technology can be used to make Googleâ„¢ searches more effective.”

Why it might be a killer

It´s a pretty ingenious way of guaranteeing that your Google search results are more refined to your tastes. Once VortexDNA becomes more mainstream, it could become linked to popular blogging sites and web 2.0 forums, and eventually could join the Google empire as a partner.

    Some questions

This sounds a lot like StumbleUpon, which uses your personal interests to find sites that you like, although it doesn´t function within Google itself to target search results. What I´m thinking is, if people have to install VortexDNA, they will have to choose between it and services like StumbleUpon, so Vortex has some work cut out for it in order to compete.
