Sugarcodes is revamping the search engine in a whole new way. This engine searches any given search engine all over the web, and then gives results from that site’s seach as well. You can do all of this searching from Sugarcodes single search box, and use their abbreviations to cut down on time as well. By typing in these short codes and then the engine you would like to search from, you can search, navigate and even translate pages straight from Sugarcodes. For instance, say you want to search George Bush on Google News (GN) just type in “gn bush” in their search box and watch results stream in. Sugarcodes is more than just searching. You can also navigate webpages using their short codes. Create your own code for a URL and then access that page directly without having to type in the entire web address. With this feature, you can also launch audio streams, find local weather reports, translate text and so much more.

At first glance, I felt a little daunted at the thought of having to use and memorize codes to search. Though, once I realized that the codes themselves were pretty intuitive (i.e. wiki for wikipedia) I immediately got hooked on searching. Excellent idea with nice execution, a possible contender in the race to be the next Google.

Could they make it so you could collectively search multiple engines at one time, by entering several codes separated by commas?
