Stockpickr.com - New Daily Stock Recommendations

    stockpickr

Stockpickr.com offers stock advice, along with many other sites out there. The distinguishing factor here seems to be that they give you new daily stock recommendations based on your current stock portfolio. They want to match their recommendations with your investing style and interest. To use the site, you input your favorite stocks and they make recommendations of "similar" stocks based on other professional and peer portfolios. They are able to give you new recommendations daily because they update their site portfolios daily. You can also chat and network with other members online. And, like many other sites, they offer blogging and articles and general advice. The site is comprehensive and valuable - and free.

    In their own words

StockPickr is a free stock recommendation site that allows you to receive automated stock recommendations from thousands of portfolios, both professional and amateur, with a similar make-up to yours. Just enter your favorite stocks and within seconds you will receive new recommendations based on matching your portfolio with the thousands of hedge funds, mutual funds and other peer portfolios that have a similar composition. It also allows you to network, research and discover new great ideas in the financial market arena EVERY DAY!

Why it might be a killer

This site seems to have it all - from free daily stock recommendations to general investment advice to a list of favorite stocks/portfolios to professional portfolio comparions to social networking. The site is a one-stop shop for stock market investors.

    Some questions

The homepage is cluttered and cumbersome. I would not have investigated the site further after an initial browse through because of the onslaught of information. My advice: simplify! They need to make their services more obvious and take much of the homepage clutter onto back pages. Also, how is the site making a profit?
