SearchFreeApps is a search engine that lets you do just that; search for free web apps online. It's a very straightforward service; simply run a keyword search (sponsored by Google) for the application you're looking for. Don't know the exact name? Not a problem, you can enter in a generic search term (say, "blogging), and SearchFreeApps will turn results that provide free blogging applications and widgets. If you don't know where to begin, you can reference the massive list or popular searches that other people have run recently at the bottom of the page. Every application has been hand-picked by the SearchFreeApps team to ensure both relevance and quality, so you can rest assured that you're not going to be led on some wild goose chase trying to hunt down the app you want. You can also add the SearchFreeApps search bar to your toolbar, as well as sign up for the site's RSS feed.

It would be even better if SearchFreeApps could offer a tag or category search. There is a huge list of popular searches at the bottom of the page, but currently you can't click any of the search terms as you could if it were an actual tag cloud. Does SearchFreeApps plan on expanding their search functions anytime soon?

| Thanks for including this excellent review of our new service. Your questions are good ones. In fact, the next major improvement to the service will include categories of services, and types of services that are likely to be useful to specific types of users (such as freelancers or employees at nonprofits.). All feedback on how we can make the service more usefull is welcome. We are also adding services recommended by our users (after review).
