    SansJ.com - Social Search Engine

    sansj

SansJ.com is a search engine that people are able to vote on the search results. The search engine uses the traditional style search engines yet also has a social aspect as well. Interestingly enough, San-J stands for sans junk. Since people can vote on the search results that come up this will ensure that the cream of what is supposed to be searched for rises to the top and people find exactly what they are looking for. The first thing you will notice about the site is its unorthdox look with diagonal blue stripes that are excruciatingly unappealing to the eye. Hoping that it was only on the home screen, my eyes and I were dissapointed to find out that even after you type in your search, you will still see these diagonal baby blue stripes.

    In their own words

"SansJ is a Social Search Engine that utilises traditional algorithmic-based search engines and adds a social side to it.SansJ refers to "Sans-Junk".The site can be viewed at http://sansj.com ."

Why it might be a killer

The idea that the search results should be voted for is a great idea in essence. This way you know the search results that you see have been vouged for by another person already.

    Some questions

The voting aspect of the site is totally dependent of user participation, which it doesn't seem like the site has yet since there are not many votes. If not enough voters vote, then the ite wont function as it is supposed to. The site is so uneasy on the eyes it is unbelievable. I don't see how anyone could stay on this site for more than a few moments without getting a migraine.
