ReaderMeter.org – The Impact Of Scientific Research

ReaderMeter.orgReader Meter is a new tool that can measure the online consumption of scientific research. This is made possible because Reader Meter to two popular metrics for authors (the H-Index and the G-Index), and has them redefined.

Bookmarks become used instead of citations, and that makes it possible for Reader Meter to have an accurate idea of how much scientific research is being accessed and consumed online.

That sounds a little complex, doesn’t it? Well, you will be pleased to know that using the site is anything but that. You simply have to supply the forename of the author in question along with his surname for a search to be duly carried out.

From a technical point of view, Raeder Meter uses the Mendeley API. Statistics from other services such as CiteULike and Bibsonomy are also going to be included in the future.

A note of caution: ambiguous names can confuse the system. And since such data comes from external sources, there is really no easy way to solve that conundrum. On the other hand, something as pivotal as recognizing spelling variants will be seen to in the next update of Reader Meter.

Why ReaderMeter.org It Might Be A Killer
