Ononemap.com is a property search engine for the UK. The site displays all the sites for sale or rent on a map, and provides a summary of property details. Users can zoom in on the map or type in a postcode or place name and the map will display the exact location of each property that meets the user's search criteria. Sample search features include: looking to buy or rent, the minimum and maximum price, the minimum and maximum number of bedrooms, the type of home (currently a choice of house, flat or either), and proximity to a tube station, train station or motorway junction. After results are found, a red house icon brings up basic information. Users can then click on a link that takes them to the Web site on which more detailed property information can be found. The user can also use the map to find the closet schools, supermarkets, cell phone polls, and the flood risk of a site.

This is one of the best property search engine sites I have ever come across. It is comprehensive, accessible, detailed, linked, and filled with easy instructions for the user. Not only can you find where the schools are relative to a potential new home, but also the cell phone posts, supermarkets and the flood zones. Best of all, it includes sale and rental property. Wow.

Are they considering selling the formula for their site to others in other countries, or expanding their services to other countries? The homepage map is a bit overwhelming, even though a quick click will get you back into the heart of the site. Is there a way to convey the scope of properties listed without intimidating a first time user (even though I realize the name of the site implies you can't change the layout much)?
