Nestoria.co.uk - UK Property Search Engine

Do you live in London or in the UK? Tired of using property search engines that are so packed with advertisement that makes it difficult to perform your search? Nestoria.co.uk helps users finding homes in London and the UK with a pure property search engine. The site works on a pretty user friendly system. The user enters the homepage, and then fills up some data for the property search (location, number of bedrooms, bathrooms, minimum price, maximum price, etc) and then all he has to do is wait for nestoria.co.uk to find the best results for the user's search. It can become a very useful website for somebody looking to buy or rent a house in the UK!!!

  In their own words

"We are a vertical search engine that aggregates homes listings from property portals in the UK." "The engine delivers listings of homes for sale or to rent by location (Eg. Canary Wharf in London or city center in Birmingham) and pins them on a map. It allows further selections by price and number of bedrooms and offers local information about transport and schools in the area." "We have an interesting business model in that our clients are property portals only, not estate agents. That allow us to help portals leverage their assets of hundreds or thousands of accounts and not competing with them in something they do an excecellent jog." "We are proud to provide satisfaction to our recurring visitors, which we try to keep growing with a realistic aproach to SEO and SEM."

Why it might be a killer

They are a rarity in real estate site: Nestoria is totally advertising free. The interface is uncluttered by cool features; the focus is in driving visitors to exactly the search results they are looking for. Their aggregated database is second only in size to Rightmove, the largest UK property portal. They are a case study by Google in their use of the Google Maps API. Also, their blog is one of the most active in the search engine arena, it is worth reading its feed.

  Some questions

Do new visitors understand the difference between a traditional property portal and a property search engine? How are users supposed to find this website? How is this website going to make profits if it is free? Does it has any sponsors? - What is more important to optimize the user experience: size and speed of the database or a nice interface with fancy look and feel?

Excellent site, what i am very happy with is the simplicity and the desire for Nestoria to help users find property and not just push up profits.

I quite like the layout, actually; it doesn't distract you with pop-ups or banners (which I find annoying) and the properties are clearly displayed. Also, I particularly like the 'click-and-drag' feature of the map, as it allows to refine the searches in terms of streets, proximity to public transport, etc..

I did a few searches of homes for sale in Liverpool and it brings six thousand properties, one thousand of them flats, impressive. However, is it me or the design is too austere?
