Metromix is a multi-city style, entertainment and nightlife guide. The site was first created for Los Angeles, but now has expanded to include South Florida, Baltimore, Chicago, New York, and Connecticut and Hampton Roads, VA. On Metromix, you can check out what's happening in the city nearest you by browsing through the several different tabbed categories (Restaurants, Bars and Clubs, Events, Music, Movies, and TV). Each of these portals leads you to a specialized page for each category whose results you can continue to refine depending on the content (for example, you can refine the Events results by location, date, and event type, and you can filter the Movies category by type and standard featured music). Alternately you can run a keyword search on each individual page or across the whole site. Most of these pages feature often-updated articles, a calendar of events, polls, a "What's new" section a photo gallery, and more.

Metromix is a great way to get to know a new city, or discover more about one you've been living in for a while. The site is slickly designed, easy to navigated, and thoughtfully presented. Each page is full of information; it would take you a long time to exhaust Metromix's resources, and by that time they probably will have updated the content again anyway.

| A seemingly random town in VA? The Hampton Roads MSA has a population of about 1.7 million and is the largest metropolitan area in the southeastern USA between the District of Columbia and Atlanta.Also -- Metromix started in Chicago, not LA. | ||

| They've started an expensive advertising campaign in NY subways, however, it's very vauge. I guess the fact that it was remembered is a plus, but it doesn't stand out in any way. | ||
