In their own words
"Our mission is founded on a fairly simple premise: to connect local communities and local businesses in ways that are simple and engaging. We want to provide a place where together, we can bridge the gap to provide a local and relevant connection to your local community."
Why it might be a killer
LocoGopher is a good tool for anyone looking to explore their community a little more, or any merchant that wants that reach out to its customers online. Since the site is ad-free, it's much less annoying to use than other similar search engines, plus the interface is a lot less cluttered.
Some questions
LocoGopher could benefit from expansion; right now it's pretty limited to big cities. How and when does the site plan on expanding to include merchants in smaller communities? How much does it cost to submit a listing, and will this be enough for the ad-free site to turn a profit?
