Grabble.co.sa - South African Web Search Engine

    grabble

Grabble is a search engine for all things in South Africa - all 20,000,000 pages. Taking advantage of the new vertical web site engine approach, the site is simple and easy to use. You simply type into the search box what you are looking for and click the "Search" button. Grabble also provides tabs that fine tune your searches into specific areas such as searching within Blogs or Forums. Recently, the site added a "Shop" search tag, which will search over 114,000 products from South African stores. Grabble also brags about the fact that they are Ad free, although I am not sure how they make a profit.

    In their own words

grab.ble [grab-uhl] -verb = to search with the hands.

Why it might be a killer

Vertical search engines specializing in certain interests or regions are all the rage right now and may prove to be more useful to users than the worldwide search engines.

    Some questions

The website design and layout are a little too plain and simple, even for a web search engine. Can they explore adding color, design and interface to make the search experience more fun and interesting? This might also help draw people to use this site as opposed to the traditional search engines. How are they marketing this site and how are they making a profit if they don"t have ads?
