Carrot2 provides an architecture for acquiring search results from various sources (YahooAPI, GoogleAPI, MSN Search API, eTools Meta Search, Alexa Web Search, PubMed, OpenSearch, Lucene index, SOLR), clustering the results and visualising the clusters. Currently, 5 clustering algorithms are available that are suitable for different kinds of document clustering tasks.
Thanks to its flexible architecture, high quality and a friendly BSD-like license, Carrot2 has been successfully used in a number of commercial and research applications and resulted in a number of interesting publications.”

It is nice that the site includes screenshots which helps guide users on how to best use the search engine. Carrot2 provides you with many options to perform your search. You can choose the search engines you want Carrot2 to include. Carrot2 is very useful because clustering the results helps you find what you are looking for faster.
Some questions
There are other clustering search engines such as Clusty.com. How will Carrot2 deal with competition? Carrot2 could cluster results by type of content such as by photo and video.
