Carrot2 is a clustering search engine that organizes your search results into categories. Performing a normal search many times gives you a variety of information some of which is useful and some of which has nothing to do with what you are looking for. Doing a search with helps you immediately find the results that are useful to you because they are organized into categories. For example if you do a search with the topic Brazil the results are organized into categories. Some of the categories for this search include; maps, Mens Cup Volley Ball title, Qualify for Olympics, oil storage, coffee, Latin American markets, etc… You can then decide which category you are interested in and browse through the articles. All of the categories have a number next to them so you can see how many articles are featured for that category. You can also decide which search engines you want Carrot2 to use in its search. Click on the carrot icon and select the search engines you want Carrot2 to include. Find what you are really looking for with Carrot2.

Carrot2 provides an architecture for acquiring search results from various sources (YahooAPI, GoogleAPI, MSN Search API, eTools Meta Search, Alexa Web Search, PubMed, OpenSearch, Lucene index, SOLR), clustering the results and visualising the clusters. Currently, 5 clustering algorithms are available that are suitable for different kinds of document clustering tasks.
Thanks to its flexible architecture, high quality and a friendly BSD-like license, Carrot2 has been successfully used in a number of commercial and research applications and resulted in a number of interesting publications.”

It is nice that the site includes screenshots which helps guide users on how to best use the search engine. Carrot2 provides you with many options to perform your search. You can choose the search engines you want Carrot2 to include. Carrot2 is very useful because clustering the results helps you find what you are looking for faster.
