Decipho is the latest entry into the new(er) genre of search engines. Decipho is basically a search engine filtering system that allows the user to enter key words and then break them down further into categories (the most popular and recommended being "web," "shopping,"news," or "information"). Then, results are displayed and they are the results that others have tagged as particularly useful. Then you can tag or not tag results too. This way, users are helping each other to filter and rate the best sites and information. It is quite clever and useful, and when I did my own search of "hot yoga" with the category "information" I was pleased with the quality of the results I got...much more useful that I got from my google search. The question at this point is how to find all these useful search engine tools that are coming online.

Decipho filters search results by user preferences and tags. By doing this users have the ability to narrow keyword searches by tags given by other users and themselves. For example, if you do a search for web 2.0 and type in news into the tag search bar:

Improving the ability to search for information on the web is a hot genre and will only grow in importance and usefulness as time goes on.

How can they market this site better? As I usually comment about these types of sites, the design and layout are plan and lacking in appeal. I realize that may not be the first priority of the site owners, but it may help to draw attention and interest to the cool functions of sites like this if the homepage had more lure and more explanation of its features. Finally, how is this site going to make a profit?
