If you have a suspicion, or just want to be on the safe side (who doesn't?) you run a quick search at CriminalSearches. It's a new site that lets you look up criminal backgrounds. The interface is simple, just a search bar for first and last names, and tabs for running sex offender searches, Neighborhood Watches, Criminal Stats and Criminal Alerts. Enter a name and state if you want, then hit Search. You might be surprised what you find. Offenses are coded with letters as Violent, Other, Theft, Drug & Alcohol, Sex Related, Behavioural or Business.
