In their own words
"Chipwrapper is a collection of resources for searching UK newspapers on the internet.
All of the resources use existing open source or free technologies to help you get the most out of the content that UK newspapers publish online.
In this Beta phase, the first tool is a Google Custom Search Engine across nine of the UK's leading national newspapers - The Daily Express, Daily Mail, Daily Mirror, Financial Times, The Guardian, The Independent, The Sun, The Telegraph and The Times."
Why it might be a killer
Chipwrapper's got an open, easy to use UI which makes it ideal for students or researchers or even just avid UK paper readers. There are a variety of tools and plugins available to enhance your search and if there's something lacking, you can add it yourself should you have the time and skills.
Some questions
The design isn't the most impressive. Will Chipwrapper be able to harness enough users to make it worthwhile? Will they expand to include non-UK papers, thus opening up the market?
