Betterthanthevan is a service that allows musicians and groupies to find free places to stay while they are on the road. The site is simple to use, just click on the search tab and then select whether you are in need of a place or whether you have a bit of extra room on your living room couch and would like to share it with musicians.
Next, say whether you are in a band or just a big fan of the music and upload photos if you’d like. The only thing left for you to do is search through available places if you are looking for a place or sit back and wait to be contacted if you’ve posted a free place to crash. Keep in mind that the site is just starting up so there are currently very few entries.

Artists in general are arguably more open than others and therefore they may be more inclined to stay on a couch and their fans may be more likely to offer up the space. This site could really catch on if they are able to increase their marketing push and get more couches listed.
