    Beta.spezify.com - A New Search Technology

    beta

Spezify is a new search technology that is described by its creators as an “inspired search” resource. In practice, that means that whenever you key in any term you are provided with information ranging far and wide that can be browsed in an intuitive and visual way.

Let’s look at an example. I keyed in the word “Music” and I was presented with links to sites such as MTV and AOL Music alongside Twitter conversations and online music retailers. Pictures hosted at Flickr and related services were likewise displayed.

In actuality, the “inspired” aspect of the search process is a bit hard to transpose into words. All I can say is that it does work quite well, and you will be taken from related topic to related topic in an enjoyable way indeed, and one that (at least to me) resembles a process of natural association.

The project is still being developed, and future enhancements will include new visualization methods as well as audio results that can be listened to from the main results page. Will it dethrone established search giants? I don’t know. Is it interesting? A lot.

    In their own words

    “Spezify – inspired search.”

Why it might be a killer

Such a solution gives internauts a chance to find related contents on the web in a smooth and natural way.

    Some questions

How can this technology complement existing services and gain a foothold in the market?
