Need to spice up your search life? Try Similarr, a newly launched web site that combines search with social networking. The idea behind Similar is simple: people are more apt to discuss thing they’re interested in or searching. Similarr facilitates discussion by creating a forum for each new topic searched. This way when someone searches, say, Myanmar, a new discussion is created and you can ask questions like how to give aid, or where is it and what happened to Burma, and so on and so forth. The social networking part of the equation comes in handy for people looking to find others with similar interests. Pull a search on steampunk, if you’re interested and start a conversation. You might find a whole movement going on. Search results appear on the left and forum space is located on the right. Simply start a discussion by clicking new topic, and click post reply to reply. Register and you’ll be able to post attachments, send private messages and use signatures. Currently, the site is lacking a lot of discussion, but the concept is promising.
