Picture this scenario: You and your friend are discussing the infamous Miss USA runway tumble. You swear she tripped over her stilettos, but your friend insists she got tangled up in her dress. You know your right, so you whip out your phone, find a video of the blunder, and show your buddy they're in the wrong. This is exactly what you will be able to do using vTap, a new service from mobile search company Veveo. vTap's intelligent search engine lets you enter in a search term for a video. Based on the knowledge that many mobile wireless services are too slow for web browsing, vTap runs it service on predictive technology. As you type, you can watch the results being filtered automatically on your screen; so you can immediately tell if you've made a mistake and need to backtrack. vTap is currently only available for the iPhone and Windows mobile, but soon they will be adding support for wide variety of mobile phones including Java enabled phones from manufacturers such as Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG and the Blackberry RIM.

vTap is a great tool for mobile phones which eliminates the need for running a traditional (and potentially pains-takingly slow) video search on your mobile device. It saves time and energy by filtering search results automatically as you go, so you may also not have to waste time typing in an entire search query if vTap can identify what you're looking for after typing only a few letters.

It would be great if the site offered a demo of how exactly the service work, since the website is somewhat lacking in technological or even practical explanations. It's also not clear when they plan on releasing vTap for other phones.
