    Twenty08.com - MobileChat - AIM for iPhones

iPhone users and AIM devotees will be pleased to learn of the release of MobileChat beta, a new service which allows users of both products to access their IM accounts on their cell phones. Users download this program to their iPhones and from there can have access to basically every feature that AIM offers, including: chat, buddy lists access, away messages, status updating, account maintenance, and pop up notifications.

MobileChat will run on both WiFi and EDGE connections. As it is an open-source application, MobileChat encourages other developers to build upon it; improvements and modifications should therefore be forthcoming in the near future.

    Some questions about Blog.twenty08.com/mobilechat

Certainly many other applications will follow in the footsteps of MobileChat; what does the service plan on providing that will be different from or better than what its competitors will advertise?

    Blog.twenty08.com/mobilechat In their own words

"While everyone was knocking the iPhone's capabilities and complaining about the lack of iChat support, we took a different route and figured we'd fill the gap that Apple shockingly left open. That being said, MobileChat was born. Using a simplistic approach, keeping a unified GUI in mind, and using the most light weight methods for executing tasks, MobileChat is the premier AIM Application for the iPhone. In fact, it's so light-weight and efficient that it runs just about as well on the EDGE network as it does on any WiFi network! Give it a try today and if you love it that much (We know you will!), tell your friends!"

Why Blog.twenty08.com/mobilechat might be a killer

MobileChat connects iPhone users with the perplexingly absent AIM feature on their mobiles. This application is especially advantageous for EDGE users who might have trouble with a similar application that slows down the server; MobileChat claims to be light enough for EGDE use.
