In their own words
"Synkia is a software company developing advanced information management solutions for mobile devices. Our technology enables users to wirelessly backup and restore information like contacts, appointments, tasks, notes and sms from their mobile phones.
Synkia's advantages
• Eliminates the risk of losing your valuable data if you lose your phone
• Makes phone upgrades a breeze
• 100% secure
• Works globally – multi language interfaces
• Mass market simplicity and business market flexibility".
Why it might be a killer
Synkia lets you backup your phone's info with the click of a button; it's an easy and quick service that will have you covered if your phone is lost, stolen, or damaged. It's clearly not enough to have data stored in your phone's chip, since this won't help you if the phone is misplaced or stolen. With Synkia's service, your information is all stored electronically and you will always be able to access it, anywhere, anytime. Synkia also offers a lot of other interesting and useful features; check out their "Business Solutions", and "Tips and Tricks" section for more info.
Some questions
Synkia's service is not free, so this will obviously deter some users who will prefer to backup their data with a free service. Additionally, some of Synkia's "Business Solutions" seem downright Big-Brother-ish; bosses can add and remove data from participating company phones (i.e., YOUR phone, if you're an employee) at their discretion.
